our approach:

We partner with arts organisation across the UK to develop practical and sustainable solutions to improve the access to, inclusion in and engagement with their work for creatives and communities from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Through our Board of Researchers, we are continually learning about the structures, principles and processes which allow socio-economic inequality to be reinforced within the creative industries.

We work with arts organisations to identify socio-economic inequalities within their working practices and organisational structures, which prevent artists and communities from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds from engaging with their work.

This includes areas such as:

  • Artistic Programming.

  • Internal Workforce.

  • Community Outreach and Engagement.

  • Schools and Education Programmes.

  • Artist Development Programmes.

  • Audience Engagement Strategies.

Once we have identified those barriers, we devise resourceful and inventive approaches to remove these barriers, and work with our organisational partners to trial and deliver them.

We aim to equip arts organisations across the UK with the tools they need to effectively support working and under-class artists to build sustainable careers in the creative industries, and to ensure there are no barriers to access for communities from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds to engage with their work.
