COMMON: GROUND - CAREER DEVELOPMENT AS A WORKING-CLASS ARTIST IN BRISTOL & THE SOUTH-WEST

DELIVERED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH Bristol old vic, tobacco factory theatres, theatre bristol & Travelling light theatre company

tuesday 29th January: 6pm - 9pm
bristol old vic theatre

TICKETS: FREE

We are partnering with Bristol Old Vic, Theatre Bristol, Tobacco Factory Theatres and Travelling Light Theatre Company to deliver an event from our COMMON: GROUND initiative, exclusively aimed at ‘off-stage creatives’ in Bristol who work in theatre and self-identify as working-class.

This event will offer a platform for working-class artists to share the barriers to career development that they face when building careers in theatre in Bristol and the South-West. It will also provide an opportunity for artists to offer suggestions of practical solutions and ‘interventions’ which could be created to help overcome them, which will act as the foundation for COMMON and these organisations to begin a practical collaboration to eradicate these barriers in this region.

This event is specifically aimed at ‘off-stage creatives’ who self-identify as working-class living and working in Bristol and the South-West, including theatre directors, producers, movement directors, stage management, costume supervisors, composers and lighting designers.

This event is wheelchair-accessible, baby/child friendly and inclusive of working-class artists from intersectional backgrounds across race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, gender binaries and disabilities.
